K i m---K o t e c k i
Director of Everything

Who is the “real” Kim of Kim & Jason? Well, she is not 5 years old and she does not wear red bib overalls everyday, as Jason portrays her. However, she does love to wear jean bib overalls, she does have a Grandpa she calls Boompa who is a retired carpenter and she loves her stuffed skunk, named Stinky. The “real” Kim is 5 years-old at heart! She has spent the last 5 years with 5 year olds everyday, as a Kindergarten teacher. Retiring from the field of education at age 27, Kim has chosen to educate and inspire adults to Escape Adulthood and Return to Childhood. She has her hand in many aspects of JBiRD iNK, Ltd. Most notably, Kim is the program director for Jason’s speaking programs and events. If she’s not on the phone chatting with interesting people all over the country, she can be found traveling to speaking events with the “real” Jason. She also organizes story time and snack time for the staff each day (just kidding).

What Makes Kim Tick: buttered noodles, the smell of fresh cut grass, going on walks with Jason, Arrested Development, daisies, shoes, dancing, pigtails, red, brownies, listening to her iPod, super hero attire, kids, comfy clothes, Batman, airplanes, laughing, fireplaces, bubble baths, Jbird, an Outback Steakhouse steak medium-rare, standup comedians, freckles, painted toenails, lakes, chocolate shakes (my father-in-law's), any song by Andrew Peterson

Who is your hero? Why?
My hero is a boy name Kyle. He is 5 years old. Jason and I met him as he was awaiting a new heart. His passion for life, his pure childlike faith and the courage he had in carrying his cross is something I will always look up to.

If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Hawaii...bring on that sunset!

What's the craziest thing you have done?
I was pretty good at Chinese fire drills in my day, but nothing compares to my decision to marry Jason.

What's the one thing you want to accomplish before you die?
Where do I start? Besides “changing the world...one adult at a time?” I would like to visit all 50 states.

What "lesson from mom" do you still live by?
Trust in the Lord. He will take care of me.

What one event in your childhood had the greatest effect on what you do today?
I met Jason when I was 16 (I guess that is childhood). He is my eternal fountain of youth. I would not have embraced this childlike spirit as wholeheartedly without his encouragement and excitement.

Favorite Childhood Toy(s): My little people Sesame Street set, my wooden ironing board that my Boompa made for me, and my swing set.
